Re: nobody ever folds anymore
i dont have that many hands with eyejay, but i can say that it's probably a good fold based on even a limited sample.
he seems to have a classic douchebag increasing street AF (0.5/0.7/1.6); typical of players who dont push back with draws in even ideal situations. here is a good example: STAGE #774726717: HOLDEM NORMAL $50/$100 - 2007-09-28 05:53:59 (ET) Table: SAINT VINCENT HWY (Real Money) Seat #5 is the dealer Seat 5 - LIVELETDIE22 ($5698 in chips) Seat 1 - EYEJAY ($826 in chips) Seat 2 - CTRL_ALT_DEL ($2954.65 in chips) Seat 3 - POSHYP ($3836.05 in chips) Seat 4 - ABBADDABBA ($4572 in chips) EYEJAY - Posts small blind $25 CTRL_ALT_DEL - Posts big blind $50 *** POCKET CARDS *** Dealt to ABBADDABBA [9h 4c] POSHYP - Folds ABBADDABBA - Folds LIVELETDIE22 - Folds EYEJAY - Raises $75 to $100 CTRL_ALT_DEL - Raises $100 to $150 EYEJAY - Calls $50 *** FLOP *** [10h 8s 6c] EYEJAY - Checks CTRL_ALT_DEL - Bets $50 EYEJAY - Calls $50 *** TURN *** [10h 8s 6c] [10s] EYEJAY - Checks CTRL_ALT_DEL - Bets $100 EYEJAY - Calls $100 *** RIVER *** [10h 8s 6c 10s] [3s] EYEJAY - Bets $100 CTRL_ALT_DEL - Raises $200 to $200 EYEJAY - Calls $100 *** SHOW DOWN *** CTRL_ALT_DEL - Shows [Kd 10c] (Three of a kind, tens) EYEJAY - Shows [As 9s] (Flush, ace high) EYEJAY Collects $997 from main pot huge draw, just calls down, makes a super well disguised nut flush on a not at all intimidating board, and just bet/calls. this is not the man who calls a 3bet/turn raises because he picked up a flush draw to go with his top pair. |

The guy plays pretty straightforward, overall aggression of .6 or something. i just think im drawing dead a vast majority of the time and do not like i should put in 2 more bbs. is this a crazy dumb fold, or have a started to learn and play well? Absolute Poker Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $30/$60 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) hoppscot22 is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, hoppscot22 raises, UTG+1 calls, Button calls, SB calls. Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8SB, 4 players) SB checks, hoppscot22 bets, UTG+1 raises, 2 folds, hoppscot22 3-bets, UTG+1 calls. Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7BB, 2 players) hoppscot22 bets, UTG+1 raises, hoppscot22 folds. Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to UTG+1. Results: Final pot: 9BB [/ QUOTE ] This is close because of pot size. In a simple heads up pot all the way, without the flop 3 betting, we bet hands that if already beaten have no outs and fold to a raise. Here we are getting 5.5 to 1 to see if our aces are good. I discount the flush slightly because your opponent raised on the flop with two players to act after him. You normally don't want to knock out players when you have a strong draw. If he were last to act, or had only one player to act after him, raising with the flush draw would make more sense. But its possible he had something like A8 with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and was hoping second pair might hold up against a small field if knocks the others out plus he might get a free card. If he has KJ you have 8 outs. If he has a king with a single spade he is likely to raise this turn also. Online, I call down here. He only needs to have a non-flush about 16% here. I think of the hands he may hold, at least that many are a pair with a single spade. Of course, if I have the type of higly opponent specific information that Abbaddabba has on him I fold. But you'd have to have such notes as it would not pop out in his stats. |
