Re: Fruit
Oranges are low priced in Florida.
You can pick them right off trees and eat them Fruits are great for you. It should be very obvious. If somebody replaces white processed grains with apples, oranges and grapes you will be in better and better shape and fell better. I did. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [censored]'s expensive yo. [/ QUOTE ]Yeah I spend like $30-$40 a week just on fruit. It's crazy. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know what the hell is happening in this country with fruit prices. Two years ago I could get oranges at 33 cents a pound regularly, sometimes 25 cents. Now I've seen them rise to a buck a pound and even 2 bucks a pound. This has happened with other fruits too. Fruit and vegetables used to be dirt cheap with occasional exceptions for specific ones. Now they're ridiculously out of whack with the prices we had over the last 10 or 15 years. It's bizarre when you can get chicken, pork, and steak for cheaper than you can oranges. [/ QUOTE ] 1. Higher gas prices. 2. Big orange crop destroyed. [/ QUOTE ] This has been going on with oranges/grapefruit for more than a year now, and we get fruit from the southern hemisphere too to help balance it out. Gas prices haven't gone up 8x, too. I can see a boost in prices -- but from a quarter a pound to 2 bucks seems pretty nuts. At least all this time later. Also, it's other fruits too. Fruit in general is up around 2 bucks a pound, often more, in most markets I go to. Not EVERYthing got snowed on, everywhere. I think it's just gouging. FWIW, I see it happening on lots and lots of veggies, too. |

Grapes. Try eating grapes. They seem to be bulky. I can't eat very many grapes before I feel full. [/ QUOTE ] QFT - 4 oz grapes + 0.5 cups cottage cheese = satisfied |
