Default what does villain have?

Live 3/6, LP table with a few raises PF here and there. I'm in late position, 3 callers, villain is a quiet old guy who raises. I had thrown out my $3 call b/c I hadn't heard the raise, thought about it and made the additional $3 call with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Normally I'd have thrown the hand away, but I already had made the call. Everyone else calls, so it's 5 to the flop.
Flop K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Check, check, call, old guy calls, I call, two folds. Three to the turn.
Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] EP checks, old guy bets, I raise, EP folds, old guy thinks a while and calls.
River 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Old guy checks, I bet, old guy goes into the tank again and calls.

Question: What did villain have? How would you have played the hand differently? Please don't tell me to fold PF, I realize the call was loose and if I hadn't already bet without knowing there was a raise in front I'd have folded. I don't normally play raggy As, even in late position. Thanks for playing...

I will post results and what I put villain on and why after I see what the board has to say..

Fold preflop for one bet 150% of the time. Ask the dealer if you can take your money back and fold it again.

He can honestly have a ton of stuff here dude.

He could have AQ and be afraid of AK or a straight, AK and be afraid of a straight.
KQ and be afraid of the Ace.

JJ and won't fold it.

What's the question, you played the hand fine.

fold preflop, but you knew that already.

he might have two pair. he might have a set of aces and just be scared of the nuts. maybe he's got JJ thought the pot was entitled to him preflop.

he sounds really passive, so god knows what he's got.

I really hated the turn raise, so I'm thinking I should hate the flop call as well.

I usually call the flop but it's not as omg autocall as everyone might initially think.

You're getting 12:1 on the flop.

I know, but this is a bad flop for A3o given preflop action(indeed, it is an example of one reason why we don't play A3o in the first place). We'll be drawing to two outs or to runner-runner quite often here.

If I don't see an A or a 3 on the turn I'm done with the hand. Once the turn unfolds and villain checks the river I have to believe I'm good here.

He checked the river because you raised him on the turn.

When you find out what he had you'll have no idea why he checked the river...
