Default What\'s the best place to place 4/8 in Vegas?? Is 8/16 worth playing??

What is the best place to play 4/8 in Vegas? I know the easy answer is "ever 4/8 game has horrible players", but I'm thinking a few places must stick out. Even if ever 4/8 game is juicy, then whats the best casino to play it at.. AKA cheap rake/good drink service/fast dealers etc..

2nd questions, I understand only a few places offer 8/16 games (Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian).. I've heard these games are pretty tough to beat. They mostly have local nits and semi-pro's, no fish/tourists. Anyone disagree and know a 8/16 that can be beat in the long term? I'm from the east coast and play 5-10, 10-20 games and normally crush them, but I heard in Vegas the jump from 4/8 to 8/16 is huge.

Thanks in advance

8/16 at the wynn on weekends is usually pretty lagtastic. its right by the rail facing the crowd so everyone tends to show off and try to outplay eachother for huge pots while the tourists gawk, can be very profitable if you run decent as the pots are invariably 4+ way and often capped on every street.

i think it uses 2$ chips.. so drop 400$ on two racks is my advice. 300$ is certainly adequate however.

No I meant how much should I buy in for the Wynn 8/16 game. I was thinking 500 is good. Also, no one has told me a good place to play 4/8 yet!

Huh? What does it matter what you buy in for? Just get more chips or put out cash if you get low.

Yes I know the rules of the game, I just wanted to know how much to bring to the table so I don't stick out by putting too much in front of me to start. I've never played 8/16 before because I'm from the east coast, but I figure 500 is a good amount.

As for answering my own 4/8 question, the reason why I put that is so I don't get a simple "all 4/8 players blow" answer. I'm more looking for the best room to play the game in, since most Vegas casinos spread it.

I buy in for 25BBs, and usually have at least one or two look at me with awe. (Not kidding.) $200 is right for 4/8.

The reason why everyone says it, is because it's, uh, TRUE? You'll rarely see a good player at these games, including me. You can easily figure out who has even a clue. They are the only one not limping in every pot.

You've gotten good advice here. Why don't you want to believe it?

money: have 30+ BB on you at all times when you sit in the game, but put out however much you want. I used to buy in for 100BB just to start with a huge stack for laughs. Trust me at 4/8 people look at you funny but they suck so bad that nothing you do will ever affect how they play.

Place: since the players all suck at all games in Vegas at the 4/8 level feel free to play whereever you want to explore. Wynn is very comfortable and almost always has a 4/8 game, Venetian is a great place to play when they can get a 4/8 game running (its hit or miss), Caesers is nice but has a sick rake, Bellagio is pointless for your limit but they spread it too, You will probably like MGM a lot, Planet Hollywood is very cool but I don't know if they get 4/8 spread too often, etc etc etc. Just get out here and play... where doesn't matter really.
