FT 1/2 6 max top 2 pair on turn.
While looking back at old games I played, I found this one. I do not remember if I had any read or what was my game plan. Button is 35/25 ; SB is 80/30 (but I do not know what were their stats when I played that hand). I reviewed the session, and the game was very active.
Full Tilt Poker Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 3 players Converter Stack sizes: Button: $97.10 SB: $618.80 Hero: $212.80 Pre-flop: (3 players) Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Button raises to $7, SB calls, Hero calls. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($21, 3 players) SB checks, Hero bets $21, Button calls, SB calls. Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($84, 3 players) SB checks, Hero bets $84, Button calls all-in $69.1, SB calls. Re: FT 1/2 6 max top 2 pair on turn.
Someone probably had 67 or Q10. That is all.

Re: FT 1/2 6 max top 2 pair on turn.
of course if you get sb to fold river, you still have to win agsint button. Maybe 2 pair holds up here if he was chasing flush, because both st8 draws hit.
Lets analyze the river bet, since there is no side pot to make an overagressive play nescessary: Will he call with a worse hand? Will he fold a better one? There is some chance he WOULD fold trips here, but I don't think too often. I also don't think trips would have played that way, especially flop. On turn I don't see trips calling becuase he is first to act and unlikely to get much action betting out on a paired board. I don't see a worse hand calling, ever. These facts added to the fact that you must still beat BB with two pair when successful makes it a poor play, in my opinon. EDIT: OOPS: he bet river! Alright. I feel the same logic holds here for him. I think you are rarely going to find a hand worse than 3kind here. Its a peculiar way for him to play any hand, admittedly. But it doesn't change the fact that he has you beat a high percent of the time. Plus you get to see what he has on the fold, anyway. |

There is practically no chance he's bluffing here with someone already all in and dry sidepot. at least 80% of the time he's got a straight, bail.
