Default What should the dealer do? What would you want them to do?

Scenario: Binion's Horseshoe tournament, final table. About 7 left, I get allin preflop with JJ vs. someone else's KQ. We both turn our hands over before the flop is dealt. The dealer deals the flop: JJ3. I flopped quads, my opponent is drawing dead.

Should the dealer:

1) Deal the turn and river at normal speed
2) Deal the turn and river very quickly
3) Push me the pot immediately and muck both hands

2>1>>>>>>>>>>3. 3 could be used by corrupt dealers to ship the pot to their guy and say "player a has unbeatable hand."

You need to deal the rest of the cards. Speed is irrelevant. I would hope the dealer would do it quickly since KQ is drawing 100% dead unless he has a three card straight flush. Plus, if another jack comes you have a foul deck.

I sure as [censored] hope not 3. I would call the floor if #3 happened even if I was the guy with quads and I had been pushed the pot.

I think it is the dealer's option between 1 and 2 since it doesn't make a difference in the outcome. 1 is probably the default because I think a dealer probably gets into a natural rhythm of doing a repetitive job and disrupting that rhythm by insisting the dealer go faster could lead to mistakes down the line, so even if you prefer 2.

2 and 1 are moot. YOU'RE NOT ON TV, WE DON'T NEED TO ADD DRAMATIC PAUSES BETWEEN CARDS.

I pushed into a $1-2 game last night. On the hand before I sat down, two people got all-in on the flop. Dealer quickly put out the last two cards, read the hands, and pushed the pot to the winner.

After that dealer left, while everyone discussed the hand that was just concluded, the player who lost the pot expressed displeasure over the way the dealer "rushed" through the hand. "He started dealing the rest of the cards before we even got a chance to turn our hands up!" The winner of the pot agreed with her that yes, this was a strange thing for a dealer to do.

The voice inside my head was screaming, "You're not on tv!!!"

Questions for OP:

1. What did the dealer do?

2. What did you think he was supposed to do? And what's wrong with the way he did it?

One more vote for 2>1, 3 unacceptable. Let's PRAY that no dealers think "slower than usual" is right.

Other player was drawing dead, so it shouldn't make a difference. However, I think we've all seen cases where the dealer has made a mistake after the hand and either pushed the pot to the wrong person or tried to.

For this reason, no matter what the situation, I think the dealer should just deal at his normal pace and not get out of his rhythm.

The only answer is 1. Dealer just deals normally. Normally should mean a short pause and a turn. Not a 5 second pause. There may be some players that aren't so good in reading boards and may not realize they are drawing dead on the flop so why antagonize them with a quicker than normal turn and river? Also, the guy who hit his quads deserves that 2 or 3 seconds to enjoy his victory.

I saw #3 happen once (although on the turn rather than the flop) and no one said a thing about it.
