Looks like whomever posted about the Ladies WSOP and Seniors WSOP events going away after this year, just might be right about it. Darn! I was actually looking forward to a few years from now when I could play in the seniors!

From Jeffrey Pollack's blog:

[ QUOTE ]
Two other interesting things related to the Queen of Hearts. First, there was some talk of eliminating the Ladies and Seniors Events during the off season. The arguments were made, but we decided that they are here to stay. I promise that as long as I'm Commissioner, both events will continue. The tradition of each event is too important to our history and they're just fun. But, as some of the WSOP Governing Council members get older don't be surprised if we raise the age minimum of the Seniors Event! 60 or 65 probably feels like a senior -- not 55 (which, as they say, is the new 45).

Actually the age has been 50, and I hope they don't raise it.

Glad to hear they are keeping it.

Tough break for the chip leader, allin preflop against a shorter stack, lost with AKd v AKs.

Nice of Howard to say the odds of getting 4 of a kind are 500-1. I could swear he also said that about a royal flush when he mentioned Ivey's odds of winning the main event another time he mentioned this.
