Default NL25 - giving AA too much credit??

Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

Button ($10.30)
SB ($49.58)
Hero ($55.40)
UTG ($30.86)
MP ($10.55)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.25, MP calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.5</font>, UTG calls $1.25, MP calls $1.25, SB folds.

Flop: ($4.75) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $4.25</font>, UTG folds, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $8.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $53.9 (All-In)</font>, MP calls $0.55 (All-In).

Turn: ($67.70) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 2 all-in)</font>

River: ($67.70) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 2 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $67.70

didn't have much of a read on villain. but he kinda seemed to call or open bet a reasonable amount with like middle or second pair. didn't see him raise much but i figured he would min-raise here with a king and good kicker, like AK, KQ, or KJ. should i think about folding after he min-raises??

Given villain's stack size, I am NEVER folding on this board.

folding here would be terrible, you played it fine - nh.

he can have [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img][img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], any pair, complete air as well as all the stuff that beats you. But you are def ahead of his range to be ai on the flop

I believe shortstacking villain's are doing this with any king, flush draw, or straight draw. Since he has $.55 behind after his minraise, you are essentially calling $4.25 to win $17. Thus you cannot fold.

WTF? It costs $5 to see a showdown and you have AA in this spot, I can't believe you would even CONSIDER a fold here.
Even if he has 2pair your getting odds to call.

well he ended up having KT and hitting the boat on the river, and this was the second time in about 30 mins that i lost with AA while having the other player all-in, so i just started thinking that maybe i was overplaying my aces.

here is the other AA hand i lost... (including results for humor)

Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

Hero ($41.52)
SB ($15.94)
BB ($28.66)
UTG ($42.68)
MP ($13.25)
CO ($13.30)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.25</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP calls $1.

Flop: ($2.85) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2</font>, MP calls $2.

Turn: ($6.85) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $5.25</font>, MP calls $5.25.

River: ($17.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $6.25</font>, MP calls $4.75 (All-In).

Final Pot: $28.35

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has As Ac (two pair, aces and kings).
MP has 7d 5c (straight, nine high).
Outcome: MP wins $26.85. Hero wins $1.50. </font>
yay river 8

i had a note on this player that he was basically very fish and i could expect him to call down with middle to bottom pair. i think i would have played this hand exactly the same every time and if he raises the turn its prolly an easy fold right??

wow. I guess this is one of those things that's easier to see when you're not the one in the hand.

With any perspective, though, it's obvious that you have a FANTASTIC opponent. One that will call flop and turn bets of 2/3pot+ with a gutshot, hooray! Smile. Value bet.
