Default Bluffing at the Micros - 35s

Table got short, no reads.

PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (6 handed) Preflop: Hero is SB with 3, 5.
UTG calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 8, 6, Q (4 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, CO calls.

Sometimes I bet these, sometimes I don't. There are a lot of factors that go into the decision. Most of the time I don't bet. I decided to bet here.

Turn: (3.50 BB) Q (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, CO calls.

I thought with the top card pairing, this would be a good spot to represent a Q.

River: (5.50 BB) 2 (2 players)

Hero bets....

My only chance of winning the pot was to bet and hope he was on a draw of some sort that didn't get there. And yeah, there were draws on the flop - any flush draw, and millions of str8 draws.

Spew? Good? No good? Comments on all streets please.

This is what I see.

"Bluffing at the micros...no reads."
It seems like a bad idea already.

Edit: In your defense, this is more of a semibluff than a pure bluff.

Without reading this, don't.

After reading this, c/f the river.

I would be more inclined to bet with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] that can win reasonably often with a pair, so Ax/Kx/Jx h. With 53h I check.

As played, I don't really see what he's folding on the river that he wouldn't fold on the turn, other than 2 more [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] , and that's probably fairly unlikely he holds those.

Better question: What is the right frequency with which to bluff on the end with a missed flush draw? I don't think the answer is 0%.

I haven't read Theory Of Poker in a while, but wasn't the idea that the optimal percentage of bluffing is precisely equal to its profitability, i.e. in this case Hero shows a profit if this bluff works once in 6½ times, so he should bluff at this, theoretically, once in 6½ times?

Yeah, I wouldn't three-barrel this unless I had some kind of read that CO might fold at some point. (Or if a scarier card came.) C/F river.

nice river bet.
He's on a missed draw enough.
Plus, it doesn't suck to be seen as a bluffer here, if you are caught.

I think your flop lead blows though..at least as I sit here a bit tired.
