Bad beat for my ROYAL
This is a true story.
About 20+ years ago in So-Cal, there were no dealers. The player on the button would deal the hand. The only games were Jacks or better hi draw and lowball. I was playing in a 1-2 draw game and I had the button, so I dealt the hand out on a full table (8 players). It was checked around to me and I looked down at my hand and had dealt myself a Royal Flush, the 1st that I ever had playing poker. Trying not to show any emotion, I opened the pot. Then I watched in dismay as everyone folded. At that time, the house gave a free deck of cards to anyone with a Royal. I sure would have liked a few damn callers to go along with my deck of cards, though. |

Re: Bad beat for my ROYAL
-grin- reminds me of my first straight flush in Draw... I raised or called because I had OESFD; saw that I caught the flush and was bet into by a 3card.. we capped it. When the dust settled, everyone at the table was saying "nice hand", and I saw in the chat box: "..wins with straight flush..". Doh! I didn't even notice til after, I just knew I had the other guy beat =))

Re: Bad beat for my ROYAL
