more nightly hundred grand hands
villain is 'daffy', seems to be playing well and raising a decent ammount. blinds are 100/200 with a very small antee, 10 if i remember correctly. folds to him in the co and he raises to 600, i call otb with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and ~7.7k behind. flop is 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], he bets 1k into ~1600 pot, i make it 3150, he shoves, i call.
villain is a random shortstack, i'm top 5 in chips at this point in the tournament with over 30k. he opens to 1800 in the cutoff at the 3/6 level and i shove him in for ~3.8k more otb with A9o. villain is a pretty loose and bad player. the hand right before this he raised, got 3-bet and folded. he min-open raises in early position at the 500/1k level and i call in the bb with KTo and ~14k behind. flop is AQ7r and i check. he bets 2k and i shove for approximately 12k more. i just get moved to a new table and fold a few hands, then i'm utg at the 750/1.5k level and open shove 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for almost exactly 10 big blinds. any comments appreciated. |

Re: more nightly hundred grand hands
i think i just call the flop in hand 1; i dont see why we'd be raising unless we're trying to get overcards to bluff at us, and if that was the case then we should probably minraise. kind of bluffing here?
hand 2 he raised 1.8 of his 5.6? has he just been blinding down? if so i think a fold is fine. i guess if its a complete random id put him in. hand 3 14k to win 6k? i dont like it; c/f or even fold pf; |

Re: more nightly hundred grand hands
Hand 1: I play the exact same
Hand 2: Standard I prob play the same Hand 3: This is a spew this flop hit a lot of his range and you only have gutter just c/f. Also pf is fine Hand 4: This is awful like really terrible. My shoving range here would JJ+ AK+ and AQ and TT are both close. With 10bbs the only position I'd shove 57s from is the sb or the button and I would need a read that the people I'm shoving into are tight. |

Re: more nightly hundred grand hands
someone explain why you want to raise the flop in hand 1? his range before our raise is huge and we're definitely ahead; if we raise (and to 3k) that is taking away any hand we're ahead of (ok we can flip vs overcards and hearts).
I think if we raise, it should be a shove, or maybe a minraise. 3k is a weird size. i think i'd say call > shove > minraise > 3k > fold. |

So many bad turn cards your hand rates to be best now and there is a lot of dead. |

Re: more nightly hundred grand hands
1) spew
2) standard 3) spew 4) spew Hand 4 is ridiculous. I'm not even shoving T9s there, which is much much much better than 97s. |

Re: more nightly hundred grand hands
BTW Hand 1 is def not a spew IMO.
Given your read villain is probably opening widish and cbetting most flops and your in position I think calling pf here is def +ev. edit: Although given stack sizes and stuff I prob just shove when he cbets. |

Lucky, Many cash game players play way too loose in tournaments. 1. It is full ring which means you should play nittier 2. You are shallower so you have less implied odds. 3. You have a finite bankroll ie you can't reload. All of these things mean you should play really nitty preflop and not try to get FPSY you can play well in online MTTs by playing pretty robotic. Pushbotting when short is something you just need to kind of get a hang of just read the MTT forum and even the STTF just to get ideas about pushing ranges calling ranges etc. It really isn't that hard, but a lot of cash pros go into MTT's with a mindset of outplaying everyone it isn't necessary. |
