Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay
Must be something in the NJ air. At the Borgata last Friday, there was a commotion at a 2/5 NL table. I have no idea what started it, but one player got out of his seat, came over to another, and started to raise his fists and verbally threaten the other. The other players interceded, and the guy returned to his chair. However, the verbal threats continued, and he could be heard saying things like, "now you need to look over your shoulder for the rest of your life every time you walk through the parking lot to your car."
The Borgata floor staff is usually great at handling these things, but in this instance they did nothing. Neither player was asked to leave, ever. In fact, the aggressor continued the taunting after being warned, the floor was called again, and still nothing more than a warning was issued. |

Was it the dealer calling floor or the other players requesting the floor? Plenty of 2/5 NL tables running on a weekend. Back one of the two off the table and put him at another one. Since 2/5NL is timed and not raked, if the other 8 at the table were sick of it, and floor was doing nothing, I wouldn't play or pay time until floor took care of it. Warnings are a one time thing. It defeats the purpose of a warning when you continue to keep issuing them instead of taking action. |

Again, I wasn't at the table, and so I have no idea what the dispute was about, who started it, or who fanned the flames. |

Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay
When the dealer who was dealing the table at the time of the incident rotated to us, she said that she and others at the table stuck up for the choke-slammer because he was getting in the other guy's face, provoking him, being an a**hole... but to me, by letting the other guy stay - without at least a time-out or suspension or something - you send a very clear message to everyone else in the room that violence is tolerated and that you can't count on that poker room being a violence-free zone...

Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay
Caesar's is a Harrah's Entertainment operation. Harrah's usually has little interest in disputes / fights among players. But, that can be confusing unless you know how Harrah's operates. When there is a relatively minor dispute / fight and someone gets kicked out / barred from the poker room, you may say, "geez, I've seen worse" stuff and nothing happened. That's because Harrah's keeps files on persons they want to get rid of ANYWAY. That's why things seem inconsistent. It's not a thing where "regulars" get favored treatment. If a "regular" is on Harrah's hit list, he's a goner upon the least incident. Harrah's uses any excuse to get rid of complainers, especially complainers in the pit games --- which you in the poker room would have no knowledge. Other people -- they just "cut them some slack", if the matter does not directly involve "the house".

Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay
Security in AC used to be top notch. Breathe another player's friggin' air and seven security would be on you like flies on dog doo.
Security at numerous casinos in vegas has proven to be a friggin' joke. Two guys got in a brutal fight a couple years ago, floor called security and they sent one little pipsqueak who wasn't worth the cost of his uniform. Floor wound up breaking it up. Why does this parallel your caesars incident? Harrahs joint. But just try to leave out the wrong door if you're an employee there. They'd be on you like flies on dog doo. Two years ago at the wsop a player took chips off an opponent's stack and put them on his own during a break. The player with missing chips noticed, they checked the camera, and did they do anything about it? Hint: the wsop was at the.rio, a harrahs joint. They let him stay with no penalty other than returning the chips. |

Security in AC used to be top notch. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I look at some of them in my place now and it's almost a joke. I understand $8/hr isn't going to get you the Secret Service, but I doubt one in five would be able to handle a physical confrontation if they had to. |
