Re: Absolute Cliffsnotes (Mod edit: AP thread, part 2)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Theory 2: (This works with Ski's conspiracy theory, too) The owners/upper management are involved, most likely to support some pressing financial need. This is just horrible from both a money recovery standpoint (can't get blood from a stone) and a PR standpoint (it is easier to forgive a company for a rogue employee and it is easier to implement safeguards to stop it from happening again). [/ QUOTE ] If AP is behind the scam and wouldn't they be able to pull it off more believable than this? At least letting someone with half a brain play instead of an actual monkey... [/ QUOTE ] One would think the CEO of a multi billion dollar conglomerate wouldn't buy his dog a 20k umbrella or his wife a 3M birthday party directly with company funds, but I am pretty sure the Tyco CEO Kozlowski did both of those things. Closer to (my) home, the guy who founded Phar-More (a pretty big pharmacy chain) illegally funneled a lot of money to a basketball team or league he owned to try to keep it afloat. So, you can't really draw any conclusions from the pedestrian tactics IMO. |

From: ugaistheteam@yahoo.com Date: 09/13/07 To: support@absolutepoker.com Subject: Security[#7771218] I think security needs to look at these hand historys pretty quick. This looks like some major chip dumping. The two left when I said something about it. This is strongly against the rules. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I had a similar experience propping at AP, except I don't know how you got contact info from other props. The only people I ever talked to about propping were the prop managers. Luckily after I went busto they overpayed me and I was back in business elsewhere. [/ QUOTE ] I was with the propping program from (near) the beginning. All the Props were given a master list of other props and contact info. I also knew seven other props in person due to the fact I recruited them to the prop program. Some time in 2005, a player released the list on the internet. From that point forward, props were not given a master list of other props (and the rules related to playing with/against other props were relaxed because we would no longer "know" who the other props were). [/ QUOTE ] As Oski knows we propped together dating back to the days of Big Bet Poker. Him and I used to prop there when 3/6 was a big game for AP. I won just slightly over 2bb/100 in these SH FL games with over 500,000 hands and propped there for years. I don't see how they needed to cheat props. The pay was roughly 100% rakeback. Their only costs were payment processing and prop managers. For the most part the prop program is neutral EV at almost all poker rooms. That being said several props I knew from back when we used to be able to know who was who came to me with the same allegations made in the post quoted by the first former prop. They all had the same concerns that AP had accounts that were stealing from them at the tables. I don't have any first hand experiences about it even though a big part of why I left AP was because of my own doubts about other things going on unrelated to anything about seeing hole cards. As many of you know I've been all over AP this year because of many shady things they have done. This is why I feel this is such a big deal, they just have not been trustworthy since UIGEA passed. [/ QUOTE ] I propped there also along with PA, Oski and the other beginning props. In fact I think there were only about 10 of us when it started way way back. I almost never lost for the first year and then I couldn't win. I wish that I still had that PT database on this computer. It looked exactly like a mountain - it went straight up and then it peaked and went straight back down. |

I figure it only had about half the hands though since PT didn't support AP for a while. |

Someone should send the NL hand with THE GRINDER as well. That's as bad as it gets.

Re: Absolute Cliffsnotes
Is it possible that this has nothing to do with absolutepoker.com and everything to do with the recent PokerTracker Virus? I know hundreds of people who were infected, myself included, with the trojan virus. A trojan would allow hole cards to be exposed to whomever is on the client side.
...not sure if this was already brought up... kinda hard to read 55 pages |
