Default JJ turning in mid pair

Table is somewhat tight, people dont seem to be cold calling with garbage.

Villain is 27.9/11.5/0.8 over 60 hands

Party Poker 0.15/0.30 Hold'em (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, 2 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.46 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, Button calls, UTG folds.

Going for continuation bet...

Turn: (4.73 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Not liking turn at all, and since would probably call b/r, i decide just to call down and c/c. ( am i playing too scared?)

River: (4.73 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero ???

So villain checks behind me.Hate giving free card, but im thinking, now if i bet on river, he would probably call or raise if he has me beaten (atleast Ax, Qx...), but will probably fold if the board missed him. Or am i just being chicken again?, and giving villain too much credit?

What would be standard correct way to play both turn and river in such situation?

Bet the turn. As played I'd bet the river and fold to a raise.

im sure ill get yelled at for this but i say c/f.

villain is on Qx if you bet he will call again and you loose. if you check he will bet, if you raise he will call, again you loose.

then again i have given up playing a pocket pair if any over card falls, dont care if im HU or family pot. someone has the over card and will call my leadout bets all the way.

-Riley

p.s. ive lost 40BB in 400 hands so im kinda cranky.

You're going to have to learn how to play stuck or you are in for a death spiral of pain as you play weaker and tighter as you lose money causing your loss rate to increase until you are selling your neighbors stereo to get a buy in together.

How the hell do you get this guy has a Q from the read or the action? This hand is pretty simple, bet until you are told you are beat. If OP had bet the turn we probably take down this pot well over 50% of the time.

He could be calling with lots of stuff even though the board is drier than the Sahara. For example 8s, Aces. Some sort of PP lower than JJ so I think a bet is in order.

You should not always assume that someone has a better hand than you.

As Kerowo and others have said, bet your decent hands until you are given a reason not to.

You are playing weak-tight.

Also, it does not matter if someone outdraws you when they are getting incorrect odds to call.

Over time, you will win more from them, the times that they dont make their draws compared to the amounts you lose for the times that they do.
