I agree, but that's not the issue here.

Except Shaq shoots a higher % scores more points. Owns him in about every category but FT and won without kobe.

Your opinion is based on cold, hard facts while the issue being discussed is a hypothetical one. We get it, Jordan >>> everyone else. However if Shaq's career played out like I am talking about, he could in fact be the best player ever.

I agree if Shaq had 1% of Jordan's work ethic he would have been the greatest. His # 1 problem was free throws #2 out of shape and #3 injuries(out of shape/too lazy to play).

You could easily argue if Shaq tried worked harder and really wanted to be the greatest he could have done it.

I would say Jordan is top 1% of work ethic and Shaq is near the bottom.

That's exactly what I'm arguing. If you saw him back the when he was ripping down backboards with the Magic - a 300+ pounder with that much quickness and strength - and give him a deft shooting touch, a great work ethic and perfect health, he could easily be the best ever.

He would be the best ever because there wouldn't be an individual in the NBA who could stop him. While Jordan was amazing, you could only hope he would have off games, and he did have quite a few of them. However, when you get bullied to the basket and get dunked on every possession, there's nothing you can do but foul and watch the guy make his 2 FT's.
