I got stuck $3600 in the rio 2-5 game and ended up +$2000 through 4 or so days of play. I was going to put in a session this morning but I'm exhausted, so I'm going to grab a cab and chill in the airport for a few hours, and then I'm out.

Playing PLO with 1000bb+ is really interesting, and 'standard' lines in a 100bb game become really bad plays deep.

I stopped at Binions the other night and they didn't have any PLO going. Maybe it's just a weekend thing or surrounding their PLO tournament...

Few nights ago I saw a 3k+ pot with 2 pair vs a flush draw where they got all the money in on the turn with a possible straight on the board... If you get the right people together, some ridiculous stuff tends to happen. What I don't like is when more than a few people start to steam and then everyone starts reraising all-in preflop. The other night that happened for like an hour staright at my table until a few of them finally gave up.

According to a few fellow nits, it's actually called a button straddle. A MS is where you can do it from any position.

I was sitting next to one of them the other night and saw 3 people get it allin preflop for a small fortune (like 30k maybe?) with aces, KQ83 and 9976........... I bet they're even softer than 2-5.

there was a pretty big game at the Rio tonight, 25-50 with a "wildfire" straddle. as it was explained to me, this means that the button is required to straddle and he may straddle anywhere from 100 up. so about half the game was making it 100 on the button, and the other half 200 or 250. 25-50-200? stacks were mostly 10k-40k.

wow what is a good amount to straddle to in this game? I think I would pussy out and straddle to 100. In a smaller game I would straddle for more though. Anyone have thoughts on this game?
