Default Relocating to Champaign, IL

Hey guys, I'm relocating to Champaign, IL - I've never lived there or anything, and I have no idea what the legal brick and mortar poker scene in the Land of Lincoln is like. Where are the nearest casinos with poker rooms? Where are the good ones? Do they spread Omaha 8 anywhere within a 2-3 hour drive?

I believe the area is 2 hours from Chicago, 2 from Indy and 3 from St. Louis. Thanks for any help.

I would also be interested in finding a low stakes (.50/1.00 blind pot or no limit, for example) home game or tournament (up to about a $100 buyin). I really don't know anyone in the area except for my new boss and one friend who doesn't play poker. Thanks for any help.

Best in Chicagoland area: Resorts East Chicago IN 5/10 NL, 10/20 + 20/40 Limit ring games (Omaha too I think, but search this forum for games spread); NL tourneys: Majestic Star, Gary IN...Illinois poker rooms around Chicago don't do much for me, except occasional 10/20 limit at Hollywood Aurora if I am there for other forms of gambooling

The room I always played in when I was in Champaign was Majestic star: 1-2 NL, 2-5 NL, 3-6, 4-8, usually some bigger games on the weekend. Right next door is Resorts: 5-10, 10-20, 20-40, 5-10 NL, 5-10 O8 on Saturdays, heard rumors about smaller NL games as well, but for small NL you should really go to Majestic. Majestic is superior to Resorts in every way except variety of games.

There's no B&M's in Indy, but St. Louis has a couple rooms that I'm not familiar with. You can probably find that info in a search. I heard a rumor that Empress in Joliet just opened a room as well.

Yeah especially once you hit the traffic on the dan ryan. getting out of your car and walking doesn't seem like a bad idea.

How many 5/10NL games do they get going during the week and weekend? Is that the only 5-10nl game around or are there more?
