Variance - Rejected by GMU [/ QUOTE ] Based on the information you have given, I would have put it at even money you would have gotten rejected from GMU. Schools do this all the time: they reject people who they assume must be using their schools as safeties. It's a classic "yield manipulation" play, designed to avoid giving offers to candidates who are very unlikely to take them. (For example, a friend of mine with very good credentials in high school who went to Harvard got rejected from Tufts for no apparently good reason.) Also, 17 schools?!? I have to give you credit for one of the most extensive and most wide-ranging (both in terms of type of school and location) college lists I've ever seen. You must have gotten crushed on the application fees, though... |

(I forgot Michigan who put me on hold months ago and Virginia who let me in but hasn't offered any money... hmm..) |

id take it your going to northwestern? [/ QUOTE ] It looks like it. I talked to their financial aid people about deferring so I can tour with my band this year. They want me to request a "binding" deferral which means if they say yes, I'm committed to go there. Tough choice considering the schools I'm still waiting on aid from... |

It's been a while. If I'm remember correctly, they were one of the first to get back to me.
