A few posts this week have made me realize that I have been playing middle limits too much. I rarely make a semi-big fold, mostly because I dont control the pot well enough, and end up pricing myself in.

Party 109$ 2K added. Started around 500 runners, about 350 left.

Here, he gave me odds to call. But I am willing to go to the felt with this if I must, and being out of position makes it tough to get full value if the flush comes in. I go for the C/R semi-bluff. The problem being, I am building a hefty pot OOP if he calls, and my hand value changes dramatically on most turns.

Not really, but a pair has a hard time calling again if I lead the turn. (unless its AJ or better), so the check raise effectively builds a pot that will probably be mine anyway.

My real problem is that the size of my raise made the turn akward, no matter what hits.

Ya I would just b/3b. If you CR then make it so that you have one PSB left on turn, easy push.

yea, thats why i like raising more. also because you barely more than minraised him.

But, doesnt a bigger raise let weak pairs and something like AQ off too easy. I realize I am behind, but without them nailing the turn, it is my pot.

I assume your read on him is weak/thight, and that a big bet can take him away. Then I`d raise somewhat more to build a pot worth stealing. If you are playing the hand for its ev, then you are most likely behind to his range and if its fe you want I dont get the raise. If you play it for a gambol, why not push? If he is a calling station type, Id just call and hope for the flush to materialize on turn and let go if no other draws/hits appear.
