Default midwest cardrooms, help needed (iowa, nebraska, illinois)

I'll be driving from CT to Nevada and want to stop and play cards along the way. I'm taking I-80 all the way to Denver.

Can anyone reccomend a cardroom with the following:
-bigger action 20-40+limit or 5-5+NL
-proximaty to I-80

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Eh... I-80 does not go to Denver. I-70 does, which would take you through St Louis and Kansas City. This page might be helpful to you though it's terribly incomplete. Searching this forum should also yield some decent information on most of the cardrooms you'll encounter.

Majestic Star and Resorts Casino are both about 10 minutes north of I-80 in Gary, Indiana. Its right before you get to Illinois. I haven't played at either in a while, but you should be able to find your limit at one of them.

Do a search for Resorts in Indiana...I believe they spread 20/40 a fairly regular basis if not all the time. They also spread a 5/10 NL ($200-500 buy in) and on occation 10-20NL no max.

Majestic Star is right there as well and probably doesn't offer the limit games you are looking for but I think they spread some pretty deep NL games if I remember correctly.

A search on both of these should give you some details

Right off of I-80 in on the Nebraska/Iowa border is the Horseshoe casino. They have not yet spread a large limit game 5-10 is the highest I've seen. They do spread 5-5 no limit. some nights they also spread 5-10 no limit. If you search for the Horseshoe Casino you will find their website with directions.
Hope this helps.

The 5-5 is actually 2-5 and is capped at $300 which sucks. The 5-10 game in spread 2 nights a week, but I can't remember for sure which ones, I think Wed. and Sat. nights. I think that buyin is $300-$1k.

I-80 Poker Geography thru the Midwest:

Indiana; Gary and East Chicago. Mentioned in posts above.

Illinois; Joliet, Empress/Argosy, no poker at Harrahs.

Iowa; Bettendorf, limits too low for you.
Tama also limits too low.
Altoona, (by DesMoines) supposedly has bigger games.
Council Bluffs, - Horseshoe gets great reviews.

Nebraska; Sorry- too late. If you got this far, you have missed all your chances for midwest poker on I-80.

Drive back on a more southern route like I-70. Do KC, St Louis, dip down to Tunica for a couple days, back up to the 3 in southern Indiana. Then drive home from Cincy.

Do any of you who posted about the Horseshoe actually GO THERE?

Please disregard above information regarding the horseshoe, as it is semi-accurate at best.

They spread 2-5 NL with 100-300 max buyin. There is no lower or higher NL action currently.

They almost always have a 5-10 game going, and many times have a 10/20.

They are also starting to run regular tournaments.
