Get her a pop CD. Don't try to fix her. Even if she seems to take an interest in your favorite music, it's probably a ruse to keep you interested in her. The way you pretend to think her friends are cool.

Assuming she isn't a huge materialistic bitch, she'll like any gift that is thoughtful. If you honestly put some thought into this and aren't just trying to push your favorite music on her, go for it.

You should have a good idea whether she'll think it's thoughtful or not. If you're only "dating," then you're probably golden. (If she doesn't appreciate the effort you put into her gift, then at least you know to drop her)

Everything about this post is wrong.

1. If you are only dating the gift should be better.

2. He clearly stated that she likes pop music and he is trying to "enlighten" her by providing her with a history of rock and roll which she doesn't seem too concerned about receiving.

So i was thinking of making her a lightscribe cd of some of the most influential songs in the history of rock'n'roll and engraving a collage of the artists on the top.
That along with flowers.....
Is that good?
Maybe some OOT girls would comment?

[/ QUOTE ]

OOT girls likely response: "Ooooh flowers!"

1. Explain? I am under the impression that the OP is a college aged person. He is "dating" her, which probably means they hooked up once, or hang out together. Further, most college students are broke. If the girl is disappointed in a thoughtful gift, then f her. There are plenty of other chicks. If OP is older, then yes, the gift should be more significant. A mix CD probably won't cut it, if they have been on actual dates.

2. OP said that she likes rock music, but just doesn't know any bands/history. She picks out his CDs in his car to listen to. Compiling the songs that he thinks would be her favorites is a thoughtful idea. If she is cool, then the CD and flowers is sufficient for people in a "dating" stage. It's better than booking a weekend getaway to the islands/mountains/etc, and freaking her out with your outrageous over-the-top gift.
