Default I want to bet PGA matchups next spring.

What online 'books' provide the best options for a person that bets PGA matchups? Why isn't this area of sports betting not more popular?

Unless Tiger's playing.

I'll add in 5Dimes, since they usually have more golf lines than Pinny.

golf betting is not popular in the u.s. because you can hardly find 20cent lines for matchups anywhere. for majors there are usually a few decent opportunities. the to-win markets have tons of juice to them also. caribsports, wsex, sportsbook.com, and thegreek are probably the best golf sites in the u.s., at least for matchups.

you have to handicap yourself, there isn't anyway to follow other people, because no one else bets golf. i subscribe to a site called tour-tips.com that gives statistical info, and basically just organizes stuff like recent results, course history, in a way that doesn't take hours to click through. it is $100 a year but in 2007 i hardly paid any attention to golf, so it was a waste of money. now that i have a television in my office i will probably work at it next spring, but who knows.

Thanks Dank.

How profitable is betting matchups? Golf is the only sport I routinely follow (save NBA play offs.)

i haven't made any money betting matchups yet. i think you have to be really, really patient, and pound the few good opportunities you find. the bookmakers don't know much about setting golf lines, so they will just put up a few matchups like furyk -110 vs singh -110 and prey on people itching to gamble. however they do make the occasional large mistake.

Elliots Golf Form is the gold standard over here, and is really useful.

I'm seeing a lot of moneylines that look like -115/-115 on sportsbook.
