aaaaaaaaahaha i played so bad today but it was great

like there's such a huge difference between watching yourself play and actually investing your mind into the game and playing every hand as if it's the first time you've ever played it

and like this has got to apply to about 98% of you, i mean, [censored], this is MSNL, none of us have reached anywhere near what we are capable of

don't let you convince yourself that you have

Having actually read this in full, I think you made a good post, but you tend to be very wordy and use long words which makes reading harder.

I totally agree with 2+2 having a standard type of automated habitual thought process regarding most situations. In fact they are no longer processes but more like machines giving a predicted response. While this type of playing, as shared by most winning players on this site, will allow anyone to win at a certain level if they learned it, it does not make one the best player they can be. Indeed, better players from higher levels, and those who can switch between different levels and win at all of them, can really exploit the "automated" winning players at any level.

Things like "you must never minraise", "you must shove here", "you must 3bet this", and the often-repeated "this is standard, wtf why would you want to do THAT instead" that you see in every thread prove this. Players who write such things, while can be winning players, don't think deeply enough. Sure, if someone's suggesting something without logic then such non-standard suggestions are probably wrong. But you just can't play against someone you don't know for example, and automatically assume he's bad just because he minraised or he called here when he shouldn't have, etc.

A truly great player does not sit at a table getting most of his profit from the fish.. it is unreliable, there might be no fish, etc etc. They get their profit from the winning standard/automated players, and I don't mean TAGs or NITs but all kinds including LAGs. They move up a level, learn what the standard play is, exploit that enough to build bankroll to move up another level, learn what the standard players do, exploit them again, and keep moving up.
