Default Starting a Chewinggum \"Business\" - Advice Very Welcome

This is my first post in this sub-forum.
And its my first step in the direction of passive income generation.
Anyone has to start somewhere, and this is going to be the first mile of the way to feel the pro's and con's of passive income.

I try to see how far I can get with the use of candy vending machine.

My biggest problem right now is to find a good location, and I'd like you to give me some ideas where you would place your chewinggum machine.
The problem is that it is a little machine, and it can't be hanged to a Wall or burrowed into the ground.
It has to stand on a table, a shelf or something else.

I have some Ideas by now:
Schools > Should be obvious. Much Money, many potential costumers.
Haircutter (for the guys which are waiting, say have nothing to do and will be affected by the look of the sweet chewinggums)
Companys which sell clothings (dont know the eng. word) and got a room for young children > if they cry their parents just buy chewinggum to make them stop
Whereever the smell of smoke should be killed.
Toy shop's.

This was it, now I am looking really forward to hear some of your questions opinions and ideas.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm just not on my best right now lol.

I think I read on another post or a blog or something that it's easier to get locations if you aren't selling gum. Businesses don't want gum machines that aren't making them money because they don't want old gum stuck to everything. You may have more luck getting the machine placed selling things like M&Ms, Skittles, Reese's Pieces, etc.

What sort of security do you have to keep this small machine from getting stolen?

What's a standard split for the business that lets a person hang his vending machine? 50% of gross proceeds? Or is there such thing as a standard split?

100%. notice how gum is never sold in casinos, even though I always want it. It mucks up the casino.

note: the Bellagio respects its clientèle enough to offer them gum at the gift shop, and in return I don't stick gum anywhere

This is how the machine looks like.
Not much but I didnt want to spend too much money on an idea wich might wont make profit. I can buy better ones once the thing is running g00t.

"Businesses don't want gum machines that aren't making them money because they don't want old gum stuck to everything. You may have more luck getting the machine placed selling things like M&Ms, Skittles, Reese's Pieces, etc."

Yes this is true and as you can see the box is big enough to contain other candys like M&M's Skittles etc ... this is obvi. an important point I have to look at. How does certain things get accepted in certain locations? This will be an important question I have to answer.

"What sort of security do you have to keep this small machine from getting stolen? "

I'm still wondering about this one.
Yet I dont have any usefull idea.
My plan is to place them in buildings where they wont get stolen like on the cashiers desk. This is an other point which need improvement.

"What's a standard split for the business that lets a person hang his vending machine? 50% of gross proceeds? Or is there such thing as a standard split?"

I'm not sure if I understand this sentences right (not neitiv american/englisch) but if I do you ask why a business would ever allow me to put my machine in ther location if they dont get any money from me yes ?

Now I tought about this one a lot, why would they do it ... but I found one golden word that seems to have an effect like a magical spell ... it's

charity

I am going to ask some cherity programs in my hometown if it's okay that I use their name when I talk to different business for a share of 10% of my profit (this will be ~10€/200 gums, a tiny bit but its free money for them, I think they will be okay with the deal)

When I then talk to business man I'll say that it's for charity. Dunno if it'll work but I'll give it a try.

"I think it's free at the DMV."

What is DMV ?

"100%. notice how gum is never sold in casinos, even though I always want it.[...]"

Maybe this is the big chance ?^^
