Why fold? even if you knew he had AA, you must call 160 more preflop.

You are reading the HH wrong.

EDIT: atleast I thought I'd have to call t320 chips when I was playing the hand. Bleh.

Yeah, wherever this hand history is from it is confusing because of the way his raise is shown. I've seen this format before and it always screws everyone up.

It's from Party Poker. Currently there is no working HH converter for Party.

Karp,
Always enjoy your posts .... I play around the same buyins as you and I remember posting a thread awhile ago that I instantly thought of when I saw your post:

I call for the set if its 140 more, if its 340 and you still have a solid stack (in this case - untouched) early I have made the same laydown after countless AK (or AQs, AJ) beatings vs TAG regulars, as well as the limp/reraise which some days seems to always occur when I have KK, QQ.

Have played a lot with this guy at the 55s. 90% sure his range here is not more than QQ+ and maybe AK.
Good laydown!

don't like the fold.

if you think he truly is that nitty and has you beat, you still have odds to call for set value.

Again, it's not a miniraise. Villain raises t320, he does not raise to t320.

I play it the same (with the info that the raise was to 480 of course). You're not quite getting odds to call even if he has KK/AA 100% of the time, felts it post 100% of the time, the SB never foolishly allins, and you don't count set over set. I do think he has KK/AA the vast majority of the time here, but it's only worse for you if he doesn't have it 100%, since you definitely can't 4bet AI against his range and it just means even if the odds were slightly better you still couldn't call for set value.

I don't think limping pre is without its place, but against an unknown at this buyin level I think you'd be missing a lot of value.
