Default Steal attempt with 66, fire second barrel?

BB is 57/0/0.4

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: (3.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero ?

Turn and river advice appreciated. I assume preflop and flop are standard. On the turn, should I bet to try and represent the Ace? On the river as played, should I show down my pair?

I almost always bet the turn here when the ace hits. Bad players like the BB always assume the stealer has an ace in his hand so when you continue betting after it hits the BB will fold a lot of these turns. So the turn should be a bet/fold (fold if c/r'ed which seems very unlikely from this player) and check behind the river. If he donks the river then you just have to fold but I think bet turn check behind river is your best play.

Yeah, you can bet the turn, which will represent the ace like you say, although that "representing" part is unlikely to do any good against this guy. He'll call again with a gutshot like 76, for instance, and he won't fold any pair either. (Edit: He may now fold a hand like K9, though, which is part of the reason to bet.)

Still, there's no real reason to assume you don't have the best hand -- until you get checkraised, that is (which, from the looks of those stats, will not happen often).

When I bet the turn, I'd be doing so with the intention of checking the river behind on anything but a 6.

As played, I think it's okay to fold the river against this guy in this small pot. He probably has an ace (or a 3).

Yeah, very easy turn bet. His PF and flop calls could mean literally anything with those stats. No reason to assume you're beat at all, and you could definately extract some value from the huge range of hands he calls with that you beat. Bet.

I agree that I should have bet the river and I regretted checking behind immediately, which is why I chose to post this hand. I think betting the turn and folding to any further aggression is the best play. Thanks for the advice.

You're almost never folding a better hand. You bet the turn for protection/value when you're ahead.
