Concerts by artists with only depressing songs..still good?
I goto concerts to get drunk and rock out. However, in June there will be a concert featuring two artists I really like, neither of whom I have ever seen live; Fiona Apple and Damien Rice.
Do you guys think this will be a good event? If you have seen either of them live do they put on a good show? |

sushi,
Concerts like this can be really great, but if you're not in the mood for that type of music that evening, these shows can also seem like a downer and a little boring. I really prefer high-energy shows as a general rule, but shows like this can sometimes just take things to a whole different plane emotionally when the artist is really on and connecting with the audience. |

Sushi,
While I sometimes enjoy music like that, I can't imagine enjoying it live. Like you said, concerts are for drinking and partying, not for having feelings. |

sushi,
I would ask you if drugs are a possiblity with you but I don't think they are a necessity. Moody music can be very cool live and finding yourself getting lost in the music throughout the show can be something you may need to be in the mood for but can also be a very enjoyable experience. |

Hmm no drugs other than alcohol I would guess. The music can be amazing in your room or in the car but I've no idea if I would like that tone being translated to a live venue. I'm going to put on The Blower's Daughter and decide later.
I will also have to be very selective about who I invite to the show, both for my enjoyment and thiers. |
