gotta get there early

One other approach to the Barney's sale: go the LAST day, when everthing's been marked down even more. This is useful when you don't actually need anything, but are just looking to get lucky - it's how I got the Armani boots. Everything's been picked over so the pickings are slim, but there are occasional diamonds in the rough, especially if you wear some odd/large sizes like me.

Al,

Just curious. How do you feel about purple Versace clothing?

LF Slim - good point. It's still going on, right? I didn't go this summer (didn't really need anything), but maybe I'll try your last day strategy.

In general, I think the Barney's Warehouse Sale at Barker Hangar is great. I've found some nice suits over the years, and some good deals on shoes. Also replenish my dress shirt collection there.

Note on sample sales: not a great place to meet women, but considering there is like a 20:1 ratio (and at least in LA, they are usually above-average looking) definitely potential ass there Should not be a primary driver to go of course, but I never really thought about it until I went.

Diablo - this is not quite purple but something like this?

Little conservative for my taste, but I'll rock a more mellow look like that on occasion.

Though I actually do own a tie similar to this one:

This is the last weekend, I'm going to try to go tomorrow. I'd say we should go together, but telling my wife I'm going to the Barney's sale with some guy I met on the internet might start to raise some doubts in her mind.

LF Slim - hahahaaha... yes, that is very sketchy and gay sounding.

sushi,

You should check out Century 21. They have a lot of sweet Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Dior stuff at great prices.

This is the correct advice. Keep in mind if you are anti-crowd (and have access to a car) there are less crowded Century 21 stores in Morristown, NJ and Westbury, LI - both have Minado sushi places within 5 miles. (I remember how you said you liked the place in the city - which has since closed and reopened as another restaurant.)

The only good thing about this is that hot chicks will randomly strip down to thier underwear while shoping. Don't really get that in a standard day at the local mall.
