I am generally alone here, but I check that flop OOP a lot in 3bet situations. It's certainly not terrible to lead and checking the turn does give you river calls from a lot of hands you beat 99-KK, Ax, etc.

Against an over-aggro player, I like to check/call the flop (very quickly) to indicate that I have a hand like JJ-KK.

Against your typical player, I like to lead both the flop and turn. I don't see anything wrong with checking the turn though, I think it's marginal.

I like it, you minimize the amount you lose when he has 6x, maximize how much you win when he has Ax.
