one hand before, i played a hand exactly like this one, but folded to a turnbet. here i tried to make him bluff by playing this hand just as that hand before, but my balls vanished with his rivershove.

I bet closer to pot on the flop (with 2 players in the pot, no time to mess around with small bets). I believe it will give you a clearer picture of what is calling you. Once the straight and flush make on the turn, you are done. He pretty much can only bet the turn with an 8, the straight or the flush. You aren't holding the Kc so it makes even harder to proceed.

So that's pretty much it, bet more on flop, fold turn unless you have reads that your villian is aggressive/bluffy/spewy on scary boards.

You haven't really indicated any reads on your opp, so it's really hard to gauge, but this board really suck. I think the turn call is pretty much spew here.

One other option would be to 1/2 bet the turn and then fold to raises. If smooth called, you check fold the river, but I really don't like building up the pot OOP on this crappy flop because there is no river bet you will be happy with. Even a weak bet on the river by the villian could be a scared 8...

He's either got a monster or a well executed bluff.

I still fire the turn against an unknown. He could still have PPs JJ and less. Obviously that turn card is horrible if was on a draw. I'm shutting down after that though.

I agree that betting more on flop is key, but raising more pf would help too. That way we can c/f turn if we want, or comfortably c/r all-in if we think he's bluffing or will call w/ some stuff we beat like lone Ac or TT-QQ.

I think his range is pretty wide for the preflop cc and flop call v. that small bet. Especially given the way the previous hand played out.

As played, given the awkward stack sizes, maybe bet 2/3 pot and fold to a raise?

I think I would bet the turn and shutdown if he shoves/calls. c/c the turn w/o the Kc is meh...
As played I think folding the river is correct.
