Default 2p2/ poker working ... but cannot connect to any other site

i am connected to a reuter with a poor signal strength due to my bizzare house. connection strength is low but although disconnects are somewhat frequent they are very brief (<30seconds). Anyway recently I am connecting to 2p2 and party poker without a problem, for any other site I am told "cannot find server " ???? wtf is up???

obviously your router is programmed to stop you wasting time on the internet.

beyond 2p2 and pp, what else would you ever need to access on the interweb?

I'm confused. There are other sites besides 2+2?

Try opening a command prompt and typing:

ipconfig /flushdns

if it still doesn't work, I still suspect a DNS issue....and since 2+2 and <insert poker site here> were already connected, it had the DNS info cached. Are you using DNS from your router or do you have your ISP's DNS servers plugged in manually? (ipconfig /all will tell you where it's going for DNS in the DNS server line near the bottom of the output. If it says something like DNS Server: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.254 or any 192.x.y.z then a router reboot should fix it temporarily...and assigning your ISP's DNS servers to your nic should fix it permanently.
