I think it's a divorce.
He mentions that he went out to dinner + a show with 2 buddies + their wives, but where is his?

Gay doesnt make sense, because he said that it's a good/bad thing, but he tends to say that it's good. He wouldnt tend if it was a coming out.
religious stuff might make sense, but dunno.
quiting poker for a while/ever is a possibility too.

cant think of many more things.

I don't think he'd necessarily claim a divorce as a 'good thing and a positive step in his life' coming from a religous background....

not saying its likely, but in defense of my illness theory, someone with cancer or another illness could certainly see getting treatment as a positive step in their lives, especially if they haven't been feeling good.

although, the "big news" will probably end up being that he is cancelling his superdelayed book or that he is moving back to canada to raise a family

From the tone of his original blog I would guess he's moving out of Vegas (possibly back to Canada) to raise a family.

It's bad news because he is leaving his friends and all the future earnings he's going to miss out on at golf.. but it's good news, well it's obvious why it's good news.

Vegas must be one of the woirst cities in America to raise a family.

You guys are nuts thinking DN is broke. He is the most marketable player out there right now. Everyone likes him (except) 2+2 internet trolls.

Why did you put "except" in parenthesis?

If I was pokerstars and he came out, I'd drop him. Thats just how I roll. Poker doesnt really seem like a gay-tolerate culture. Is that a fair statement?

[/ QUOTE ]
If your ignorant homophobia is indicative of how the wider community rolls, it's a fair statement.

[/ QUOTE ]

I said if I was pokerstars :|

How many marketable gay athletes do you know of?

[/ QUOTE ]

Poker isn't a sport, and definitely doesn't have the same macho aspect as legitimate athletics.

[/ QUOTE ]

please check the dictionary for the word sport--one meaning of sport implies entertainment, fun & a contest rather than physical activity...in that sense, poker can be considered
sport as can fishing, hunting, yatching, etc...

i understand your thinking though, that poker ought not to be compared with baseball, track, swimming, basketball etc which are athletic games and a number of people, probably most, think of as sport

IMO he is going to reveal that himself and Patrik Antonius are but one person, and PA is merely his alter-ego and everyone Daniel wants to be as a man, ala Fight Club.
