Can you expand upon this? What ideas specifically did you have in mind?

For the love of all that is good and holy, please make a well documented universal hand history format that any hand from any poker site can be exported into. With your new database format it should practically write itself.

This way when developers come up with brilliant ideas they only have to make 1 hand history parser to work with every site, provided that person has PT. Think of the lock-in value!

i would like to see that pt imports automaticly tournament results and finishes in ti the database not that you have to do it manually every time if you multitable mtts you losing track of all the tournies you played and finished what position and what prize you got so do a automated tournament result entry where pt does it by itself all the data register

I haven't read any posts, so forgive me if i repeat something but here are some things i'd like to have added:

Session/Hand Reviewer:
Where you can add comments on every street in the HH-file.

Patternfilter:
A filter where you can filter betting patterns.
e.g.:
PF 3bet, Flop raise, Turn check, River check raise
or even more accurate w/ bet amounts like min-raise or 3/4 pot.

Not being a tourney player, I have no tournament hands imported into the current version of PT so its making it a little more difficult to properly design the PT3 database schema.

If anyone would be willing to send me a few tourney hands I would greatly appreciate it. I dont care who they are on or what limits. I just need some data to work with.

Please PM me for contact info.

Best regards,

APerfect10

This thread seems to have gone to sleep. Keep the ideas and suggestions coming guys.

In the course of PT3 development, we are coming across some interesting information regarding the details of the existing version of PT. I'm wondering if everyone reading this would be interested in having an input into some of the things my partners and I can't agree on. I've added a poll below as an experiment. If it seems to be well received, I will do this for other things as well in the future.

I would also like to add that the extensive design work that went into the framework for the new generation of PT is paying off handsomely. Things are still early in the development stage, but the application is shaping up very nicely. We have speedy imports, a well designed and organized database schema, a non-locking, very slick looking user interface and an extremely flexible and powerful system for displaying stats that will allow users to add custom stats. I was confident in the product before it became tangible. Now that I see it actually taking form, I'm even more confident and I'm very excited about it. You will be pleased with what we are doing.

Now to the poll. In disecting PT2's handling of stats, we came across something. PT2 currently does not count a hand as being won by you if the hand ends in a split and you lose money because of the rake. Should this feature remain this way, or should the hand still count as being won, even though technically, money was lost on the hand?

Voted yes.

Regardless of money, you did not lose the hand. It's a very simple thing, you split the pot, you did not lose, period. You might've not won by yourself, but you won something and you lost nothing poker wise, only money wise.

WON.
