i might be wrong but mason didnt even like the lol_donkaments drive afaik

correct, the original idea I pitched was a holiday drive where people could just post screenshots of donations and there would be no specific charity solicited and noone on 2p2 would be collecting any money.

pm Mason about this. I recall "brags" about personal donations were okay.

That one little thing looks like a beedog, which is so many levels of awesome.

Also, I think a 'not really a charity drive' drive could be set up this way.

Someone big and important (gildwulf, Mason, highstakes player X, etc) starts a thread in BBV and says

"Hey guys! i just donated 250 bucks to Children's inc.! Here's a screenshot! Not that anyone else has too... etc etc"

And then if other felt they had something to say, or their own donations to brag about, they would post it there.

heh Im pretty sure I own a company (its like $200 to start one or something)
and I also work for a nonprofit organization send me monies. k thx.

But yeah the vig thing should have stopped people from sending "alot of money" to people.

ACTUALLY, Ive noticed the PPA president posts in one of the forums...
couldnt we have a PPA sponsored drive?

Looks awesome in political climate. Donations are safe and to a know nonprofit (i think) organization.

Not sure how much attention lol_donkaments got but it would be a nice gesture coming from the only poker association i know of and someone that is lobbying for the future of online gambling.

bump because this needs actual clarification. Can I (or someone) organize a charity tournament and post about it? This used to happen all the time for one reason or another...is this now not allowed?

This is now not allowed. No one may solicit for money on this site for any reason that I can think of.

Hey Iron, I have this great idea for a start up company that you may be interested in. You can be in, all I need is $2,500. How about it?

edit: Here's a link to the web page.
