Default trouble sending an attachment

this may not be the correct place to put this, idk.

but,

i scanned a document that i'm trying to send through e-mail. it's scanned into microsoft word and when i try to attach it to a hotmail document in IE, it says something about a connectivity problem and it won't attach.

when i try to attach it in FF it just says it's working on it for like 8 hours, and doesn't really do anything.

when i try to do it in g-mail it says it can't complete my request.

anyone know how i can get this to attach and send?

Make sure you can read the file in Word, so save a copy, rename it to something else and open it in Word. If that works check the size of the file, if it is a couple of megs big you may want to try compress it to make is smaller. It sounds like it is a corrupt file though, so if you can see it in Word do a save as on it and save it as a .doc file and try again.

i turned off all my virus scanner's so i don't think that could be it. i also put it in a zip file, but it still won't send.

this is the exact message i get when i try to send it in IE hotmail:

Windows Live Hotmail did not receive the entire file you uploaded. This is usually due to a temporary Internet connectivity issue. Please try your file upload again.

i'm completely lost here.

i'm trying to send a scan of an 8 page document, so if anyone has any ideas let me know.

thanks.

What happens when you send some random small file? (i.e. Make sure you can send attachments at all.)

If you can read the scan just fine, even when you compress it into a zip, can you upload it to some file host? That way you could just email a link to that host.

How big is it? Maybe Hotmail is having a problem with the big scan. Find some other big file on your computer and try attaching that, to see if you're having a BigFile problem, instead of a ThatFile problem.

Can you even upload files > 2MB to Hotmail using a standard Hotmail - account?

I don't know of an ISP off the top of my head that would allow that size attachement.
