Dudes, keep in mind that he 3bet an UTG raiser, and that he's most certainly never pushing that river with JJ+ for value.. and that he probably doesn't 3bet 33, 77, 88, or TT pf... and that leaves like 87s.. the more I look at this hand the more I want to call.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why can't he be pushing river for value JJ+?

I'd agree that JJ/QQ is not pushing here for value. I'd assume his valuerange is KK+.

I just feel like from his description that he's not the type to be value betting somewhat thin.

How have you been responding to his frequent reraising preflop?

If you've been calling and floating a lot then I guess it's a call. If you haven't or only once or so this gets tricky

the question is how often you think he 3bets Ax[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] relative to say 67/97, because i think his 3barreling range there is about the same with each. also if he's not 3betting 33/77/88 this becomes a much easier call.

to the OP who said raise the flop to $23000-

that's bad here unless you've got a great read that your opponent is never going to come over the top of you. you've got two overs and a gutter and you dont want to get blown off your hand and stick $23K in the middle doing so.

given the description it doesn't sound like this guy is going to 3-barrell you very often at all. i'd fold the river and not think twice about it.

JTo worth defending preflop vs. a tight opponent?

It sounds like he's thinking rationally about his case money and not monkeytilted, so that's a big reason to bail out on the river IMO.

If opponent was on a draw then his flop + turn bet sizing is pretty poor. He didn't commit himself but also didn't leave room for a 3bet semibluff, making himself vulnerable to being blasted out on the turn, which is a disaster for a strong drawing hand.

QFT, left that out of my OP. It can't be a mistake to muck this hand pf, and if it is, it's a small one.
