That's cool to hear you use the poem in your Intro to Lit. class.

A few years ago, I was reading to my daughters one night before bed from a poetry book I'd had in high school. I came upon the Cullen poem, and was just floored. I've returned to it many times since.

I make no attempt to justify its perpetuation. In fact, in my heart of hearts, I echo Dr. Kings wish about everyone being judged on the content of their character. What a wonderful, ideallic world that would be. Am I cynical? Oh yes. No doubt of it. What have I learned? I have learned that it is not always my fault if someone hates me. And, that is sad.....
