Default Coral/Eurobet Closes to Australians (and other Countries)

Dear Gala Coral Customer,

Please be advised that the Gala Coral Group has, with regret, taken the decision with immediate effect to cease taking any further business through its websites from residents of certain countries.

We are contacting you because, based on the personal details you have provided us, you are resident in one of those countries and therefore affected by this decision. Unfortunately you will no longer be able to transact with our websites and we shall be closing your account on 9 July 2007, allowing you time to request a withdrawal of any funds in your account.

The decision has been taken for internal commercial reasons and Gala Coral Group wishes to stress that there is no indication that our activity in providing the services on our websites, or your use thereof, is in violation of any local laws where you reside. Obviously we appreciate you will be disappointed by this action, but trust you will respect the rationale for our decision.

We also wish to stress that your funds remain safe and secure in your Gala Coral Group account. Where we already have your payment details we will refund any outstanding balance using that method within 7 days from today. If we do not have the necessary details please contact us on
00 44 1483 765 893 or via email at English@eurobet.com to confirm how you wish any existing balances on your account should be repaid including the appropriate financial details. We commit to processing such refund within 7 days of receiving your payment instructions.

Finally, on behalf of the entire Gala Coral Group we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for your previous custom.

Yours sincerely ,

Gala Coral Group

Australia! Why Australia? This make absolutely zero sense. I have never heard of a website barring an Australian before.

They say that it is not for legal reasons.

Sites based or affiliated with Australia must ban Aussie players. There are several Prima skins and I believe Poker.com/Carbon that ban them.

Has there been an official statement from Eurobet on their website? I would like to see the official list of countries.

Very interesting. What a strange policy to have.
