Default $11 HUSNG crappy river spot

Hi

This is an old hand so no real reads on villain. Think he was some random loose slightly aggro idiot. Would you call river?

Fold. There are alot of hands that beat you here. If he wants to buy the pot on the river the bet would be smaller imo.
You should increase your raise on the flop with the possible straight en flush there.

I would call. Against "random loose slightly aggro idiot" as you described him I think you are ahead more often than one out of three times.

Yes, I'm not happy about it but I think we are winning 51%+ from our hand holdings and a further 5%+ from bluffs.

In pokerstove I put in this range, basically J9+, all kings & all diamond draws...

TT+, AdKd, AdQd, AJs, AdTd, Ad9d, Ad8d, Ad7d, Ad6d, Ad5d, Ad4d, Ad3d, A2s, KTs+, Kd9d, Kd8d, Kd7d, Kd6d, Kd5d, Kd4d, Kd3d, K2s, QdJd, QdTd, Qd9d, Qd8d, Qd7d, Qd6d, Qd5d, Qd4d, Qd3d, Qd2d, JdTd, Jd9d, Jd8d, Jd7d, Jd6d, Jd5d, Jd4d, Jd3d, Jd2d, Td9d, Td8d, Td7d, Td6d, Td5d, Td4d, Td3d, Td2d, 9d8d, 9d7d, 9d6d, 9d5d, 9d4d, 9d3d, 9d2d, 8d7d, 8d6d, 8d5d, 8d4d, 8d3d, 8d2d, 7d6d, 7d5d, 7d4d, 7d3d, 7d2d, 6d5d, 6d4d, 6d3d, 6d2d, 5d4d, 5d3d, 5d2d, 4d3d, 4d2d, 3d2d, AJo+, K2o+, QTo+, J9o+

Agree with above you should raise slightly more on the flop so you can get more chips in on the turn.

In my experience villains at those stakes and eligible to "random loose slightly aggro idiot" description would shove with missed draws and not keep 95 "just in case". He most of the time have the flush here. If not a flopped straight and is scared of the flush, but that's less likely as he would raise the turn.

I played one hand somewhat similar the other day:

Seat 3: Villain ($1,830.00 in chips)
Seat 8: Hero ($1,170.00 in chips) DEALER
Hero: Post SB $10.00
Villain: Post BB $20.00

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [SQ HA]
Dealt to Villain [S2 H8]

Hero: Call $10.00
Villain: Check

*** FLOP *** [S7 CQ C2]
Villain: Bet $40.00
Hero: Call $40.00

*** TURN *** [DA]
Villain: Bet $240.00
Hero: Call $240.00

*** RIVER *** [C8]
Villain: Bet $800.00
Hero: Allin $870.00
Villain: Call $70.00

*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $2,340.00 Rake $0.00
Hero: wins $2,340.00

I'm not proud of my play there cause he could have the flush as well and altought he was a complete maniac this river bet was very suspicious. I was calling his shove even with TPTK but that bet would almost make me fold if he was not a clueless donk.

That range is very weird since most of the hands we're ahead are very likely checking the river or making a blocking bet at most.

K2o+? QJ, AQ, JT and JJ are also very unlikely to bet this big on the river. A set and AA would have raised the turn most of the times, but is conceivable.

I fold here. That huge bet on river tells me that he has a big hand. Fold and find a better spot.

Betting properly on the flop and turn would help your river decisions. There is no way I am folding against the villain you are describing. You made a weak bet on the turn and he would have likely c/red you if he actually had it.

If he is really as stupid as you think, use the pot button.

175 on the flop, 425 on the turn (as played) call river.
