Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
I was looking at the starting chips for the $300 event and I see that you only get 2000 chips and 20 min rounds was it this bad last year?

Re: Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
The structures are exactly the same as last year.
$200 +30 entry = 2k in chips and 30 min rounds $300 +40 entry = 2K in chips and 40 min rounds You only get more chips in the $500(3000) and $1000(4000)events. These things are kind of crapshoots. Not a lot of room to maneuver. |

Re: Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
I assume you guys are talking about the Limit tournaments, as the NL tourneys start with 4000 chips.

Re: Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
No, they are indeed talking NL. The events have longer levels and bigger starting stacks based on the buyin size.
The 200$ events are 30min levels, 2k chips The 300/400$ events are 40min levels, 2k chips The 500$ events are 50min levels, 3k chips The 1KME is 50min levels, 4k chips. In all events the final table levels are 10min longer than whatever the normal levels are. 4Card. Here is a link to the listings. I am not affiliated with them, but i will be competing in a few. http://www.canterburypark.com/CardClub.aspx?id=724 |

Re: Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
Not very good stack sizes and blind levels, at least in the 200-400 events compared to the Wed and Sun regular tounies.
Best thing to do is play the satellites to get in. |

[/ QUOTE ]This is a great point. The normal Wed and Sun tourneys at least give you 4K in chips compared to 2K in Classic tourneys. The structure in the Classic tourneys does go up a bit slower but these are all kind of crapshoots. I agree play the STT satellites to get in. Another option is to go play the Sat MTT up at GC Hinckley which costs $170 and gives you 10K in chips and a decent structure. This Hinckley tourney is the best value in MN in my opinion. |

I just checked the $200 NL tournament for Tuesday and Wednesday, the 16th and 17th, and it says on the sheet you get 4000 chips to start. Am I missing something? |

Re: Canterbury Fall Poker Classic ?
I just called the poker room and spoke with a manager.
The NL tournaments for $200 on the 16th and 17th both start you with 4000 chips and 30 minute levels. The L tournaments for $200 on the 16th and 17th at noon (HE and O8) start you with 2000 chips. |
