Default Hotels in Atlantic City

I am going next month for the U.S. Poker Championships, and was wondering if you guys could recommend a hotel on the boardwalk. I am not looking to spend $175/night or more, just somewhere to crash for 5 hours every night. I saw the Flamingo was reasonably priced. Any info on that? Any other recommendations?

Thanks.

Does the Taj not have a tournament rate? I've never stayed at the Flamingo, but I have heard bad things. Maybe get a poker rate at the Hilton (during the week), or stay in Absecon?

Do a search for Route 30 Absecon.

You can score a decent room for 50 for the night.

How far is Absecon from the boardwalk?

The Taj poker room manager told me to call back next week and she would be able to tell me what poker rate she could offer. The listed price for their rooms right now is 150 during the week and 250 on the weekends.

If you have a car it will take you 15 minutes to get into the city. Just take Route 30 the entire way to the Taj.

You can take a cab or a bus.

check out the hilton... they have a great rate $29 for players who log 4 hours of play which can easily be done at a cash game..

Their poker rate is about $70/night. I expect the tournament rate is about that. They give away rooms free or cheap during the week to small stakes slot and table game players.

There are plenty of cheap places on route 30 and 40 out of town. There are similar places in town, but the suburban ones are safer.

You might be able to get a room at a good rate a casino hotel or other nice place from hotels.com or something like that.

During the week in September, you should be able to get reasonable rooms at Days Inn / Comfort Inn that sort of thing.
