Favorite beers ATM by category:

Lager: Warsteiner
Light, easy-drinking lager: Corona
Flavorful/interesting (apparently it's called a "Strong Golden Ale"): Duvel
Wheat beer: Blue Moon
Bargain-priced beer: Yuengling Lager

Beer categories I don't like at all: Stout, Porter, most Ales

Increasingly popular imported beer that I think is drastically overrated: Stella Artois

Stone Brewery in San Diego makes some of the best beer I have ever tasted. The Pale Ale is outstanding, as is some of their bitter pale ales...India Pale Ale, Arrogant Bastard Ale, Ruination Ale.
Also try to get ahold of some Sierra Nevada. Great beer from Chico, CA. Pale Ale is always great, but right now the seasonal offering is the Celebration Winter Ale. Careful, it'll knock your socks off. It's way more alcoholic than the bottle says it is.
Cheers.

Americans cannot seriously comment on beers, don't they drink some 2% monkey pish, have a few beers and are trollied.

My brother and his mates went to New York last year on a big stag do (here in the UK we drink 10+ pints a night easily) and after having 3 or 4 bottles each in a bar they got told to move on and called alcoholics - pmsl.

Fav beers: Stella, Carlsberg Export, Special Brew...

The "funny" stuff about Pilsner Urquell is: it's german.

[/ QUOTE ]

What exactly is German about it besides its name?

Also, is there a "beer for dummies" site on the Internet somewhere? All the different kinds of beer confuse me. I also don't understand why I love Bass but hate Sierra Nevada, even though they're both Pale Ales.
