Default Math problem (simple but hard)

Using the numbers 2, 4, 4, 6, and 6, make the number 55.

RULES

1) You can multiply, divide, add, subtract, square, square root. However, in order to square root a number, you need a 2. Likewise, to cube root a number, you need a 3.

2) You can only use each number once, and cannot do something to the zero power unless you have previously gotten a zero with other numbers.

3) Also, you cannot combine numbers into bigger numbers. (Example (44+66) /2.) Otherwise, you can do anything.

ok, so obviously the 2 has to be used to square root somewhere, because it's impossible to get the odd 5 elsewhere. But that's impossible. So square root is out

(4+6)/2 = 5, another way to get an odd number
omg multiply by 11 and I win
but noooo I can only multiply by 10
HOW DO I GET 11 WITH 4 AND 6
IMPOSSIBLE
noooo so close

oh well, I claim almost victory
(4+6)/2 * (4+6) = 50

lets all just try to find ways to make 50

6*4 = 24
6*4 = 24
24 + 24 + 2 = 50! i win too!

the key is using 3 numbers to get an odd number, then using the other 2 numbers to get to 55

alternatively, use 3 numbers to get up to a number, square root it, then multiply by the remaining number

not too many combos out there

I wasn't aware we could use exponentials...
that could change things, but probably not
