a user just PMed me moments ago concerned over Lurker's life. Can we remove that thread please?

Do we want to remove it if this is real and it's possibly the one way he tried to connect with people?

Obviously, it could 100% be a scam, but if it's real someone might get through to him.

Mat - did you get his number on caller ID? Call the police in his state, get someone over to his house ASAP.

I have his number. I've spoken with him. He has given me his word that he will not do anything tonight. I believe him. He is living at home, i believe, and sending the cops over right now doesn't seem like the right play.

clearly, he does not want to die.

However, if anyone here really disagrees with me enough that they want to take more aggressive action, his number is . he lives in ottowa canada

Let someone qualified make that decision. Don't make it yourself.

Contact the proper authorities and let them deal with the situation in person.

I agree. Let the professionals do their jobs. He is crying out for help, the best thing to do is get him some help. If the professionals know the situation they can avoid a lot of embarrassment with the family. You cant take the word of someone who is suicidal, their decisions could swing in either direction due to various triggers out of our control.

He asked me not to send the cops to his house.

I'm not going to do it under these circumstances.

If you guys feel i'm wrong, you have as much info as me.

i am calling the ottowa crisis line, however.
