What do we make of his $2 flop bet into a pot of nearly $7?

Villain has an AF of 0.3...That's about as passive as can be, no? Even though he's underbetting the flop I'll take his aggression into 2 opponents serious. I may be way off, but once he calls hero's flop raise I really can't see mere overcards in his range anymore.

Think most of the advise in this thread is good, especially what Warren Harding said. I'd raise a bit more on the flop cause a raise to say 8.5 could finish the hand right there if he has overs only, you're giving him too good odds here on the flop as he has to call 4 to continue in a then 18 bucks pot.
I agree with mostly checking this turn behind and calling most river bets if river bricks.

Useful viewpoints. I did find myself in an awkward spot on the turn admittedly and incorrectly I bet $11 and took it down. As maddo highlighted, the $2 bet on the flop is what made me raise. I wanted to punish villain for that bet and take it down there and then. He could have made a set of 10's and the $2 flop bet may have been a way of keeping me in. If that was his line, it worked.

I posted this as I didn't feel comfortable after I raised his small bet on the flop and villain called. As Warren pointed out I lost my plan at this point and didn't feel totally committed or completely uncommitted because of his stack remaining.

Alot of very good advice there guys.

Lol. Just a note: you did not bet incorrectly, that was just a different approach. If you had the feeling a bet could take it down on the turn then this play was absolute right, ok?

3 betting preflop looks favourable with a Cbet if checked to OR a bigger raise on the flop.
