UTG raiser has been playing very tight, but only over like 25 hands or something, as has ganpaty over 50 hands. Button called my flop bet very quickly. Not an instacall but he didn't really have to think about it. UTG tanks and runs like half his timebank down before calling and then quicklly shoving the flop.

Lol. I read this last night and thought that it was kind of tricky. Check back today and see that everyone agrees.

any chance UTG can have AJ?

i can't figure if its more likely he checks AJ or AA on the flop.

Anyway, getting sick price, i think i stick it in.

edit:

when i first answered i thought the 8 was on the turn, but now looking again, 9T could make sense, but probably more likely from the guy yet to act on the turn right?? gross. i dunno, i still prob shove.

Was just playing around with some ranges in Pokerstove. It's basically impossible to weight things properly at all, and based on assumptions you can make it go either way it seems. Let me postsome things and see if you agree/disagree.

1. Button is more likely to slowplay a set than a hand like AJ.

2. Button is more likely to call preflop with a pocket pair than AJ and especially more than something like KJs QJs, JTs or T9s.

Those should give us some idea on how to weight button's range, seems unlikely he'd have less than a J, maybe TT could be in there sometimes but he'd probably have to think a little on the flop?

3. Overpairs and hands like AJ should be discounted for UTG because he's less likely to check those on the flop, and prboably more likely to crai when it gets back to him than call. He's more likely to play JJ/88 this way or something weird like JTs he decided to open for some reason, maybe TT/99 if he sucks I dunno. And AJ obv discounted some more since he'd often fold it preflop. Hard to weight anything here because it's so unlikely he'd play anything this way and yet here we are trying to figure out relative frequencies of these extremely unlikely hands.

Against either player individually I'm getting it in, but with two players to worry about it's a lot more likely at least one shows up with a hand even though neither is clearly strong.

Bumpity if anyone cares. I ended up folding, button snap called top set and lost to donkey UTG with TT when he rivered the 9-ball. Still not entirely sure it was a good fold but I'm leaning towards thinking it was. The timing on button's call was really scary to me I was actually a lot more worrieda bout him than UTG. Defintiely a wierd hand...

Ya I wasn't going to say he had TT, but some stupid hand which picked up a draw on the turn.
