Welcome to the forums.

I sure many here could help you with this if you could be a little more specific as to what type of poker you play and such.

You may also want to use the search function as much of what you're looking for has probably been covered numerous times. Good instructions on how to do so can be found here.

I agree, if you can let us know exactly what games you are looking to play, it will help us guide you.

Anyway, "Getting Started in Hold'em" by Ed Miller is a great book to start for Hold'em.

Not many beginner texts delve too deeply into game theory...........

If you are looking at starting NL, I can suggest Neil Myers' book: Hold'em Hand by Hand.
I did a review on this book (take a look at the board below) and think it is quite good for a starting NL player. There is a section that highlights some key differences between limit and no limit.

Slotboom's No-Limit DVD set does a nice job of transitioning a limit player to no-limit.

Would that be available from a certain website? The DVD selection available in my part of the country is sorely lacking.

Hey Doc,

why don't you get it from our great sponsor Conjelco - here is the link: Conjelco videos
You can also find it at Professional Poker:
Professional Poker Video

I have the video and it is quite good and is geared a bit towards limit players switching to no limit.
