Default Looking down on smokers?

Do you non-smokers tend to look down on people who smoke? I realize that I do. When I see someone smoking - epsicially at work - I just think they look pathetic. I saw a woman outside the mall sucking down smoke I guess on her break. Again, pathetic. Anyone get this feeling?

Yes.

But I don't let it affect how I treat them or anything.

Why dont you guys worry about yourselves? I think this a major problem with society, people caring/looking down/worrying about what other people do. Just doesnt make sense, who cares what other people do?

I can see feeling this way a bit. But I think it has something to do with being forced to go smoke outside. It's like they are being shunned or something. I don't think anyone thought this way back when you could just smoke anywhere you want.

guids, obviously you must smoke. I was especailly tying this to work - I wonder how much time smokers waste on their smoke breaks. And if I saw a boss out there smoking, I would lose a lot of resect for him.

This guy I used to work with would go outside for a smoke, and when he came back in he would fill the whole office with that skanky ass smoke air from his lungs. It was disgusting and kinda defeated the purpose of going outside to smoke.

No, I dont smoke, well, very very rarely. And as far as the skanky air, where the hell can you go anymore (besides a bar), where you can smoke indoors? Besides the health concerns of others, there is no reason that you should not be able to smoke wherever you want w/o prejudice.

Earlier this year, a friend of mine was having problems with people smoking directly below is 2nd floor window.

He aksed them (speaking from his window) if they would leave.

He then asked the RA to go and talk to them. They left, but came back the next day.

Couple days later we went to the mall and bought a watergun. We chilled water with ice, and shot the two of them with ice water in an already freezing Ithaca winter.

They havent been back since.
