Everyone gets a better-paying job working on the robots? It would be more efficient just keeping the employees at the store.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was obviously only joking with my "robots doing everything" scenario. I was just pointing out the extension of labor cost approaching zero. Prices would fall significantly and everyone would be better off.

There will always be things that need doing.

With labor costs approaching zero, what wages are people using to go shopping with?

Uhh, I think the extension of labor cost approaching zero shows that everyone would not be better off.

Labor costs would be in exponential decay and would never actually reach zero. Remember in this situation goods would cost very very little. You wouldn't *need* to make as much money to enjoy a fabulously lavish lifestyle.

I bet if you polled all those vetern workers 6 months ago, the majority would have said that 'unions were a good thing, but their time has passed, no need for them in today's world'. LOL

[/ QUOTE ]

WTF is a union going to do for people who are already fired?

Who's making the robots? Other robots I guess. It's probably cheaper to hire a human to do most hamburger flipping than buy a robot.

I can't believe I just lent credence to this absurd statement by actually addressing it.

I can't either. Godwin's Law FTW.

Wow thanks. I could not remember the name of that. I've needed to invoke it many times recently.
