66 overpair with a OESD against BB
Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $0.05/$0.1 9 players Converter Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5SB, 5 players) SB checks, BB bets, MP1 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls. Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4.5BB, 2 players) BB bets, Hero ??? Villan is pretty selective about his hands, but it doesn't matter here b/c he took a free play from the blinds. From the last 3 orbits I could see that he was pretty solid postflop, not overplaying hands, but calling his draws when the odds were right. My question is: What hands can I put him on? He could have played anything there... but he bets into 4 people here on the flop and then bets into the raiser on the turn... |

Re: 66 overpair with a OESD against BB
Obviously A2 and 76 are bad, but I don't think he has those. Any Ax, more likely A5-A3, are options, as are any flopped two pair hands, especially Q5. Maybe also a pair and a draw: 52, 63, 74.
You have to call here. You may be ahead, you've got eight outs for the OESD (discount 'em some maybe), and your set outs are probably still good. |

Raise preflop. Flop raise is great. As played, call the turn.

Re: 66 overpair with a OESD against BB
Because everything other than random stupidity that donks that turn has us beat, and because we no longer have potential overcallers to consider, and we don't have as much equity on our OESD because there's only one card left.

I second that, our equity is not as high as it was in flop. Rasing would be bad here because you can fold to a 3 bet.

Raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I like a raise with 88 here, but with 66 I'd rather limp to encourage limps behind me for set value. |

[/ QUOTE ] 66 is actually pretty big HU against an MP open-limper, even as "just" a pair. Also, there's only one player left that hasn't already put money in the pot so if we make everyone fold we're getting some decent overlay. I guess this partly has to do with at one point you consider PPs to be made hands and not set draws; I could go as low as 22 here with the right reads. River: Guh, even 2x got there. The only other draw is 6x and you hold 2 of the sixes. I'm fine folding this river as it's pretty hard for him to continue bluffing; there are definitely some rivers I would call this UI and I would probably call if I somehow got there with 99, but as it stands we lose to basically everything except 6x and some random part of the board that does not have a Q or A kicker. |

Raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I was thinking about open-raising preflop, but when MP1 called, I decided to just call too. |
